Learning Outcomes and Sub-Learning Outcomes
Upon completing the study, students of Master’s Program in Linguistics will be able to:
a. develop knowledge in the field of linguistics through research (Research Profile)
b. solve problems related to linguistics (Decision Maker Profile)
c. conduct beneficial research for the society and science, as well as obtain national and international recognition (Research Profile).
The followings are the details of the sub-learning outcomes from each learning outcomes.
a. Able to develop knowledge in the field of linguistics through research (Research Profile)
a.1. Able to apply contemporary linguistic theory in linguistic research resulting in innovative research.
a.2. Able to analyze language philosophy in life with the appropriate philosophical approach.
a.3. Able to analyze linguistic phenomena through an interdisciplinary approach between psychology and linguistics.
a.4. Able to analyze linguistic phenomena through an interdisciplinary approach between sociology and linguistics.
a.5. Able to critically analyze problems related to speech acts in the society.
a.6. Able to analyze current linguistic phenomena in Japanese, Indonesian, or English by using appropriate linguistic theories.
b. Able to solve problems related to linguistics (Decision Maker Profile)
b.1. Able to solve linguistic problems in the society through appropriate language planning in accordance with the situation and condition of the society.
b.2. Able to solve problems related to the second language acquisition by using applied linguistic theory.
b.3. Able to solve problems related to translation, Japanese, English, or Indonesian language teaching by using appropriate linguistic theories.
c. Able to conduct beneficial research for the society and science, as well as obtain national and international recognition (Research Profile)
c.1. Able to conduct research concerning with linguistics and culture in analyzing the phenomena related to language and culture.
c.2. Able to conduct research by using corpus linguistic approach in order to produce research that more reflects the actual language usage.
c.3. Able to write a good quality thesis proposal and defend it in the seminar.
c.4. Able to write a thesis that is worthy of the publication in the national and international journals.

Table 1.1 is aboutthe Indonesian National Qualifications Framework Descriptions, Learning Outcomes, Sub-Learning Outcomes, related courses, Types of Competence, and Elements of Competence. Table 1.2 places the Elements of Competence in the first column and connects it with the Learning Outcomes and the Sub-Learning Outcomes.
